Gujarat Police Traffic e-Challan System “VISWAS”
Gujarat Traffic Police has introduced “Video Integration and Statewide Advanced Security (VISWAS)”, under which more than 7,000 CCTV cameras have been installed at traffic junctions, entry and exit points and other mandatory places in more than 40 cities of this state. , Using CCTV surveillance system, the traffic police is aiming to keep an eye on the violation of traffic rules on the roads.
The traffic police is using a synchronized system of CCTV surveillance to detect traffic violations on the roads. Thus, under the “Vishvas” scheme, the traffic police is working towards maintaining a proactive traffic management system. Number plates of vehicles can be checked using CCTV feed, after which e-Challan is issued.

If you have lost the e-Challan sent to you or deleted the challan SMS received from RTO, you can still get every detail about the traffic challan online. Here are the steps by which you can check and verify e-Challan status online:
Step 1: Visit https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/ .
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘Check Challan Status’ tab
Step 3: A new page will open where you need to enter your DL number or vehicle number
Step 4: If there is no fine and e-Challan against you , a ‘Challan not received’ dialog box will open
Step 5: If there is any fine or e-Challan pending against your name, a page will open showing you all the details about the challan

List of Traffic Violations & Fines in Gujarat
The government has decided to impose certain traffic police fines against various types of traffic violations for better implementation of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. As per these penalties, a person is liable to pay a fine depending on the type of violation. It is to be noted that if a person is found violating the same traffic rule twice, the penalty for the same is increased.
